Dr. Chaodong Wu, MD, PhD, is a tenured Professor of Nutrition in the Department of Nutrition and Food Science at Texas A&M University (TAMU) (College Station, Texas) and Faculty Fellow of Texas A&M AgriLife Research. Previously, Dr. Wu was an Associate Professor of Nutrition (2013-2018) and Assistant Professor of Nutrition (2007-2013) at TAMU, and a Research Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, Minnesota) (2003-2006). Since his postdoctoral training, Dr. Wu has made a series of significant contributions to the understanding of liver physiology in relation to systemic metabolic homeostasis. Since his appointment at TAMU, Dr. Wu has focused his research on elucidating roles of inflammation-metabolism interactions in unhealthy nutrition-associated insulin resistance, adipose tissue inflammation, and hepatic steatosis and inflammation. Dr. Wu also has explored how unhealthy nutrition induces peripheral circadian clock dysregulation in the context of inflammation and metabolic diseases. In addition, Dr. Wu has studied roles of myeloid cell functions in metabolic diseases. Dr. Wu has authored and co-authored over 80 research articles (since 2001) including those were published in prestigious journals such as Journal of Clinical Investigation, Cell Metabolism, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Hepatology, and Gastroenterology.
