报告人简介:

  Dr.Steve Flint is a professor ofFood Safety and Microbiology and the team leader of Food Bioscience in Massey Institute of Food Science and TechnologyMassey University.He has worked in Fonterra (New Zealand’s largest dairy manufacturer) as a food microbiologist for 20 years before he went to Massy University. There he has developed specialist research interests in biofilms (which he studied for his PhD) , spore formation, alternative methods for cleaning, sanitation and new processing technologiesduring this period. Currently, he is supervising 10 PhD students and a master student with reserch projects including Comparative genomic study – dairy thermophiles (Geobacillus), Adhesion Mechanism of G. stearothermophilus, Dairy biofilms, enzyme production and product quality, Dairy waste water biofilm modelling, B. licheniformis – biofilm development in WPC plants, B. licheniformis  in milk powder, Listeria monocytogenes biofilm in seafood processing – attachment mechanisms, Mechanism of persistence of L. monocytogenes exposed to nisin and other natural antimicrobials, Mechanism of biofilm formation of Yersinia enterocolitica and Application of stress to leafy greens to control colonisation with foodborne pathogens.
